EASTER WEEKEND 2013

asheville, nc

Brendan, Poa, and I had a lot of company the past couple of weeks.  My family (mom + dad + brother + grandpa)  visited over Easter weekend.  We showed them our favorite eats in Charlotte (Soul Gastrolounge, Roosters, and Zada Janes), and then ventured to Asheville to show them the beauty of the mountains, the quaint downtown, and more amazing eats (French Broad Chocolates + Zambra).  Oh, and we watched many hours of college basketball (GO ‘CUSE!). megan gielownick langeashevillepoa gielow

My best friend and her husband took a road trip around the Carolinas visiting family and us!  We showed them the flowering trees in Freedom Park and more good food :)

Finally, my in-laws visited (Brendan’s mom  + dad + sister+ uncle + aunt + cousin), and they were put to work!  His uncle Mike is an incredible handy man, and he completely renovated our laundry room.  The floor felt a tad wobbly and the walls were unfinished.  We’ve had our fair share of “palmetto bugs,” and we were hoping the patching of holes would help alleviate that headache.  It was such a blessing that he came down to help us.  We discovered that the floor was about to fall into the crawl space upon tearing up the floor.  The supporting beam was dangling off the brick and twisted (oh the joys of owning a 1930s home!).  Not to mention, we had a million holes all over the place that we were able to patch.

We’re so thankful to our family and friends who come visit us all the way down south!  :)
