On the drive up the Blue Ridge Parkway, it was completely ensconced in fog. I was worried that their mountaintop engagement photos in Asheville were going to be hidden by the fog. I prayed that we’d have some views as I was driving, and as soon as I reached our destination, the clouds parted to the most glorious sunrise.
These types of mornings are my favorite in Appalachia. We don’t get them often, but occasionally fortuitously the sun and fog mixes together to make some of the most stunning backdrops for engagement photos.
After we wrapped up our hike, we spent a little extra time searching for pockets of fog. Thankfully, we found the most epic rays off the side of the road and made the most of it before we all went home to eat breakfast.
