Martha and Jesse have become dear friends of ours over the past few years. Martha and I met at Syracuse University and have stayed in touch through the wedding industry and alumni mentoring groups ever since. When they asked me to photograph their wedding, I was beyond honored. Not to mention they had at least 20 other photographers in attendance at their wedding! :) A few of my favorite moments:
// Martha and Jesse got ready together at their house with their families and friends. I loved that they were able to spend as much of the day together as possible (until Martha put on her dress, of course!)
// They chartered a school bus to take their bridal party and family to Camp Brockway for photos. It was a fun way to take in the views along the way.
// Syracuse gets its reputation for being one of the snowiest cities in America. While it didn’t snow, it was quite frigid on this particular Saturday in October. However, right after they were pronounced man and wife, the sun shone through the clouds and highlighted Jesse and Martha. It was magical.
// Martha’s dad wrote a song in lieu of a traditional toast. It was incredibly sweet and sentimental to Martha + Jesse.
// Martha baked a carrot cake for the reception in memory of their first date together. On that special day they ate carrot cake cupcakes at the very same place where they hosted their ceremony.
Huge thanks to Mary for helping me out on this wedding!
