The Pirrello family has become near and dear to my heart. When I photographed Alicia + Colin’s wedding a few years back, I had no idea that I would be have the honor of getting to be a part of future family weddings, baby showers and the the like. This career has given me many gifts, but the greatest one is making friends in the process.
When Emily + Matt became engaged, I was so excited to hear that they wanted me to be a part of their RT Lodge wedding. These two are world changers, both making a huge difference in the lives of others through their career paths. They started dating during a tragic time in Matt’s life. He was in training for the military and had an accident while parachuting from a plane. He almost died, lost a leg, but thankfully overcame the incident with incredible strength and a prosthetic. Their families reflected on this event during the ceremony and how it brought everyone closer together. Through many tears, it was evident how special it was to make it to this wedding day and witness their union.
It was a rainy weekend in April, with the rain leaving traces of its path on every leaf and sidewalk. Emily + Matt invited their families to “camp” at the RT Lodge for the weekend and take part in fun scavenger hunts, group activities, and whisky tastings. The wedding day was filled with the same energy, as everyone gathered under the large tents to celebrate as one united family.
