Brendan and I had a whirlwind end to 2014. We were in Spain when Fabian called me asking to shoot his wedding in Mexico a month later. After having a few days to get over our jetlag from Europe, we were on another plane to Cancun to celebrate with Fabian + Angela. These two are some of the kindest, most welcoming people that I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with. We absolutely loved spending the weekend with these two and their families in Mexico. A few favorite memories:
>> Watching not one, but TWO rainbows appear over the horizon with dark clouds and golden light just before sunset. We had less than five minutes before they disappeared, but, man, it made for some incredible images.
>> Experiencing a tender moment between Angela and one of her best friends. He came into the room while the girls were getting ready and had a heart-to-heart with Angela and lots of happy tears.
>> The father-daughter and mother-son dances were two of the most emotional dances I’ve ever witnessed as a wedding photographer. I’ve seen a lot of beautiful moments throughout the years, but you could tell that there was something extra special between these two and their parents.
>> Experiencing another “hora loca” with fun masks and props. I think everyone that attended the wedding made it onto the dance floor at some point.
>> Doing a tequila shot with Angela at the end of the night. I never drink at weddings and haven’t done a shot in at least five years, but when in Mexico, you drink tequila (especially at the request of the bride ;) ).
Hi,
I am a photographer (and anthropologist) from Slovenia and I am looking for ways to go more seriously into wedding photography here and abroad. I searched for photographers in Riviera Maya and I am curious to know if you as a professional photographer perhaps offer mentorship , and if so, at what cost? I did that in Belgium with a different kind of photographer and it worked quite well.
Thank you very much for your response. :)
Kind regards
Tina
