Katy and Patrick are two of those sweet souls that are, simply, crazy in love with each other. It was visibly evident because they couldn’t stop laughing, smiling, cuddling, holding hands, stealing kisses throughout the entire wedding day. There were so many things I loved about Katy + Patrick’s wedding at Hawkesdene in Andrews, NC, but here are a few highlights:
> Patrick surprised everyone and sang to Katy during the reception with a crowd of screaming fans guests.
> Every guest seemed to be from another country or had lived abroad at some point. Patrick is Irish, but he and Katy live in London presently. Katy’s grandparents were also missionaries in China and Congo for many, many years.
> The way that Patrick cried when he saw Katy for the first time…and then throughout the entire ceremony ;)
> The epic dance party where all 70 guests danced the entire night
> The sweet sentiment that was shown throughout the day. The ring bearer carried the O’Shea family crest entering the ceremony, and Katy wore her mother’s veil from the 1970’s. Her grandmother’s Bible that she held walking down the aisle was also incorporated into their day.
> Katy’s grandfather insisted that he get a dance with all of “his girls” at the reception. He hasn’t been in the best health lately, so everyone was shocked that he wanted to dance. I looked around while he was dancing with her aunts, and every one of them was wiping away tears.
> Those SPARKLERS! I’ve shot many exits before, but the smoking sparklers made it one of the best. What an exit!
