We are always excited to visit family and friends in Michigan, but it’s always a stark surprise when your skin hits that wintery cold windchill. Last year we didn’t see much snow over the holidays, but this year, we saw several feet of snow dump on Muskegon.
It was beautiful.
We took Poa to the beach WITH snow for the first time. He loved it.
I spent lots of time with my grandpa. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to his war stories and playing cribbage with him. We recently found out that he has cancer, and it made our time that much more valuable after hearing the news.
I went cross country skiing with my dad, long walks with my brother and his pup, cooking with my mom (and Brendan’s mom), and we played several game nights with the entire family. Brendan’s family was hit with the awful stomach bug and we were in the ER on multiple occasions (not fun!).
I’ve never been more thankful for health and family this season. I hope everyone had just as wonderful of a Christmas and holiday as we did (minus the flu, of course!) :)

Looks like you guys had a great time in Michigan. I love the photos and the quiet moments you captured of your family. Happy New Year to you guys! I can’t wait to see all the amazing images you will take in the year to come :)
