Jan and Erica planned their Asheville elopement from the midwest. They had an incredible weekend exploring Asheville with their closest friends, and they ended the weekend with their sunrise elopement.
We met as the sun was rising from the foggy atmosphere. They had a private first look in the woods to show off their wedding clothes to each other, wiping away tears and leftover rain that dripped from the trees.
Their closest friends gathered around them with goosebumps on their arms. Shivering with nerves and cold, Erica held Jan’s hand as she pulled out a handmade fortune teller to read her vows from. Everyone laughed and thought it was such a unique idea. Once Jan finished reading her vows, Erica pulled out her fortune teller! They never conversed or planned the spontaneous shared act, but it was a beautiful display of their connection.
They kissed and high-fived as their friends cheered them on. After photos and hugs, we ventured up the mountain, hoping the fog would clear for mountain views.
Instead, we were gifted unbelievable light and fog. The whimsical light formed tangible rays that looked like woven string that wound around the tree trunks, spilling from the branches. We all reveled in the natural beauty and the celebration of their marriage.
